Meba Agricultural Development Share Company (the so called MeAD, መዓድ in Amharic) was established on July 22, 2023, in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia to address Ethiopia’s need for significant agricultural commercialization. It was founded by a diverse group of experts including university scholars, consultants, researchers, and development practitioners. MeAD aims to transform smallholder agriculture in Ethiopia by promoting private-sector-mediated transformative agricultural commercialization. It aspires to make a significant impact on the agricultural sector by increasing agricultural productivity, creating employment opportunities, improving food security, promoting rural development, and fostering innovation. The company is guided by values such as quality, innovation, integrity, excellence, social responsibility, and sustainability. The company operates in livestock and crop production, agro-processing, agricultural machinery supply, veterinary products, and provides research, training, and consultancy services. Ultimately, MeAD SC strives to contribute to Ethiopia’s economic growth by delivering high-quality agricultural products, promoting sustainable practices, and empowering rural communities.

መባ የግብርና ልማት አክሲዮን ማህበር ሐምሌ 15 ቀን 2015 ዓ.ም በባህር ዳር ከተማ በኢትዮጵያ የግብርና ዘርፍ ያለውን ከፍተኛ ፍላጎት ለመመለስ በዩኒቨርሲቲ ምሁራን፣ አማካሪዎች፣ ተመራማሪዎች እና የልማት ባለሙያዎችን ጨምሮ በተለያዩ ባለሙያዎች ተመሰረተ። መዓድ በግሉ ዘርፍ የተደገፈ የግብርና ግብይትን በማስተዋወቅ በኢትዮጵያ እምብዛም ያልዘመነውን ግብርናን ለመለወጥ የተቋቋመ ድርጅት ነው። የግብርናውን ምርታማነት በማሳደግ፣ የስራ እድል በመፍጠር፣ የምግብ ዋስትናን በማሻሻል፣ የገጠር ልማትን በማስፋፋት እና ፈጠራን በማጎልበት በግብርናው ዘርፍ ላይ ከፍተኛ ተፅዕኖ ለመፍጠር ያለመ ነው። ማህበሩ እንደ ጥራት, ፈጠራ, ታማኝነት, የላቀ ደረጃ, ማህበራዊ ሃላፊነት እና ዘላቂነት ባሉ እሴቶች ይመራል፡፡ ማህበሩ በእንስሳት እና በሰብል ምርት፣ በአግሮ ፕሮሰሲንግ፣ በግብርና ማሽነሪ አቅርቦት እና በእንስሳት ህክምና ምርቶች ላይ የሚሰራ ሲሆን የምርምር፣ የስልጠና እና የማማከር አገልግሎትም ይሰጣል። በመጨረሻም አክሲዮን ማኅበሩ ከፍተኛ ጥራት ያላቸውን የግብርና ምርቶችን በማቅረብ፣ ቀጣይነት ያለው አሰራርን በማስተዋወቅ እና የገጠር ማህበረሰብን በማብቃት ለኢትዮጵያ ኢኮኖሚ እድገት የበኩሉን አስተዋፅኦ ለማድረግ ይተጋል፡፡
