Who We Are
Background of the Founders:
In response to the pressing demand for significant commercial transformation within Ethiopia’s agricultural sector, Meba Agricultural Development Share Company (hereafter referred to as MeAD SC) was founded on July 22, 2023. The establishment took place at Fidel Hotel in Bahir Dar City, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s agricultural development.
The company aims to demonstrate and promote private sector-mediated transformative agricultural commercialization, with a focus on improving productivity, supply chain linkages, and market access. By introducing eco-friendly, demand-driven, and market-oriented agricultural products and technologies, MeAD SC seeks to support and promote the commercialization of predominantly subsistence-based smallholder agricultural production in Ethiopia.
The founding members of Meba Agricultural Development Share Company come from diverse backgrounds, including university scholars, consultants, researchers, and development practitioners who have extensive experience working in national and international institutes and private organizations in Ethiopia and abroad.
