Job Purpose
A General Manager is responsible for improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the company’s overall operations. They oversee several elements in a business, including hiring staff, operating budgets, and launching price promotions that could attract more customers.
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational efficiency of Meba Agricultural Development Share Company. The role involves overseeing all departments to ensure the company’s goals of promoting sustainable and commercial agriculture are met. The Manager will champion innovation, compliance, and quality assurance across the company’s business sectors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc/MSc Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of 4 years for BSc and 2 years for MA of progressively responsible management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and proven track record in managing is necessary.
- Strong financial and analytical acumen.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business management tools.
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong analytical ability
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Problem-solving aptitude

- Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.
- A candidate working on Agribusiness Company is a plus.
- Experience in stakeholder management and public-private partnership is a plus.
